Am I riding?
Every race on the rider's programme, with its dates, its classification and the rider's status: Selected or Reserve.
My races · My trip · Who else is going
The VelOps rider app gives every rider their own race programme, their travel and hotel for each race, and the line-up they are racing with, on their phone. Everything in it comes from the back office, where staff plan selections and travel.
What riders see
Before every race a rider needs three answers: am I riding, how do I get there, and who else is going? The rider app answers all three in one place, for every race on their programme. No more digging through forwarded booking emails or scrolling back through a group chat.
The VelOps rider app is a web app that riders open on their phone. It shows the rider's own races and their status, the travel and hotel for each race, the riders and staff on the same race, their profile and their personal links. The rider app is one of the two parts of VelOps. VelOps is team management and race logistics software for professional cycling teams (men's, women's and development squads): a back office for races, selections, travel, staff and team cars, plus a rider app.
Every race on the rider's programme, with its dates, its classification and the rider's status: Selected or Reserve.
Each transport leg with times, booking reference, e-ticket code and baggage, plus the hotel for the race.
The other riders on the race with their status, and the staff on the race with their role.
My races
Each race on the rider's programme appears as a race card with its dates, its classification and the rider's status. One look tells a rider whether they are selected or on reserve.
My trip
Open a race and the rider sees how they get there and where they stay. Each transport leg has its own times and booking details, so there is no need to ask staff for a booking reference again.
Flights and trains appear only once staff mark them visible. That way staff can prepare and change those bookings in the back office first, and riders see them once they are ready.
More on race logisticsWho else is going
For every race, the rider sees who else is on it: the other riders with their status, Selected or Reserve, and the staff with their role.
Profile, change requests & links
Riders can check their own details and ask for a correction from the app, without chasing anyone by email.
The rider's profile shows their date of birth, address, email and phone number, their bank details and passport number in masked form, and their passport expiry date.
Something out of date? The rider sends a change request from the app. It lands as a task in the back office, on the same task list staff already work from.
Personal links and tools, such as training planning, are managed by the back office, so every rider finds them in the same place as their races.
From selection to app
The rider app has no separate data to keep up to date. Riders see what staff plan in the back office, race by race: the selection feeds the calendars, the logistics and the rider app.
Staff create the race as an event in the back office, with its dates and classification.
Riders and staff are added to the race with a period and the status Selected or Reserved.
Staff record the transport legs and hotel bookings for the race. Flights and trains are marked visible once they are ready.
The race card, the trip and who else is going show up in the rider's app.
Setup
As a setup step, the apps can be delivered in your team's colours, logo and fonts, so riders open an app that looks like their team.
Branding is part of setting up VelOps for your team: the rider app can be delivered in your team's colours, logo and fonts instead of a generic look.
The rider app is a web app that riders open on their phone. Staff can open it on their phone too.
Rider app FAQ
The VelOps rider app is a web app that riders open on their phone. Each rider sees their own races with their status, their trip for each race, who else is going, their profile and their links. Staff can open it on their phone too.
A flight or train shows up in the rider app only once staff mark it visible in the back office. Until then, staff can prepare and change the booking without riders seeing a trip that is still being arranged.
The rider sends a change request from the app. The request lands as a task in the back office, where staff pick it up from the task list and update the details.
Riders use the VelOps Rider licence. Staff, admin and performance users use VelOps Crew. Both are billed per user per month, and the price is on request.
